A small service that gives the console real eyes and hands: a light is on because the process is alive, and a program can be started with a button from the phone.
What it is
A panel showing the state of applications usually lies in the same direction: it remembers that a program was once started and draws it as running. The light is on, but the process has been gone for hours. A panel like that is worse than none — people look at it and believe it.
This service lives on the machine itself and answers the question honestly: is the process alive right now. It also does the reverse — starting a program on a tap from the phone. The name is literal: the console could look, now it can reach.
Specifications: Node.js, in the Windows startup list, coming up with the machine. The service is deliberately small: it has one job, and it must not become the thing that needs watching itself.
