Fuego Lento — sample site for a restaurant with its own delivery

What it is

A restaurant that delivers on its own is a case where the site serves two different decisions at once: “go out tonight” and “order in”. They cannot be mixed into one stream, so the menu and the delivery are kept apart, and the delivery has its own terms, its own zone, and an honest list of what the kitchen will not send out.

The menu is set the way a printed one is: leader dots from the dish to the price, allergen letters beside the dish itself and a key under the menu, sections in the order people are used to on paper. The form is familiar, so nobody has to learn to read it again. The dark background is not decoration: an evening room, fire, warm light — a white field would work against the food.

Specifications: Next.js, CSS Modules, vector graphics; a static page inside this site, in Spanish. Behind the text real coals are burning — the graphics card computes them, so the sparks never land in the same place twice, and the heat rises as you scroll down towards the fire-cooked dishes. There is not a single food photograph: the place is invented, and other people’s photos in a portfolio are theft in a work-sample costume.
